Dairy farm construction in the Tyumen region

development in the Tyumen Region. Under this agreement GC DAMATE will invest 5.6 billion Rubles into the agricultural-industrial complex of the region. These investments will be directed to construction of the dairy farm for 8800 heads that will include two cow barns, two commercial and one auxiliary milking parlors, the reproduction center with a calf village, the feed storage and the required infrastructure.

This project differs from all previously constructed facilities. First, the cow herd will be kept in cow barns under one roof separated by milking parlors. Second, keeping in mind the climatic conditions in the region the farm will be provided with forced ventilation to maintain steady indoor temperature and air humidity. This will create most comfortable conditions for cattle.

After attainment of the design capacity this operation will produce 88,000 tons of milk annually with the average output of 9,000-10,000 kg of milk per a cow a year. The DAMATE specialists are planning to import here the world’s best Holstein-Friesian cows from the USA, Canada and EU for rearing in the new operation. For cattle feeding the region should appropriate about 30 thousand ha of lands to grow forage and grain crops.

The Government of the Tyumen Region is ready to consider the state support of implementation of this project with regard to the applicable legislation, including by granting subsidy. It is assumed that this project will be accomplished within the frame of “State Program on Agriculture Development and Agricultural Market Regulation for 2013-2020”.

Having subsidy from the region the project will be repaid in 7 years after attaining the design output capacity. Implementation of this project will permit the Tyumen Region to increase significantly the milk production. Considerable breakthrough will be attained by the dairy farming due to application of innovative technologies. The milk operations will create not less than 350 workplaces with deserving salaries and good labor conditions.

On November 01, 2013 during the meeting of Chairman of RF Government Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister of France Jean-Marc Ayrault the Group of Companies DAMATE and the Group of Companies DANONE signed the agreement of intent for implementation of the joint project in milk production. The documents were signed by Yves Legros, CEO Danone Russia, and Naum Babaev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GC DAMATE.

The Agreement provides for construction of several milk farms in the Tyumen region and in the Bashkortostan Republic. All milk produced by these farms will be sold to Danone processing plants. Additionally Danone intends to provide some financial support to these projects and bring knowledge and expertise in order to make them more efficient. These projects will help to increase production of high quality milk and enhance standards of the dairy farming in Russia.
