DAMATE, Aviagen and the Government of Penza region have signed an agreement on a turkey parent stock breeding

DAMATE Group, Aviagen Turkeys and the Government of Penza region have signed a term sheet, providing for the creation of a plant for the production of hatching eggs of turkey on the territory of Penza region. A complex will be the first turkey eggs production plant, built by Aviagen in Russia.

On 21 October, DAMATE Group, Aviagen Turkeys and the Government of Penza region have signed a term sheet, providing for the creation of a plant for the production of hatching eggs of turkey on the territory of Penza region. A complex will be the first turkey eggs production plant, built by Aviagen in Russia. The document has been signed by the Director General of DAMATE Rashid Khairov, the Director General of Aviagen Turkeys Clay Barrows and the Governor of Penza region Ivan Belozertsev.

   

The plant to be built in Penza region will be the first hatching eggs production complex of the company Aviagen in Russia.

In accordance with the terms of the document, the parties will combine efforts for the implementation of tasks that will ensure the mobilization of financial, credit, material and other types of resources aimed at successful implementation of the project.

The Government of Penza region intended to help Aviagen company in construction of the plant, to establish contacts with subjects of Penza region, to provide information support for the project in the region.

The company Aviagen will carry out the construction of the complex, and after its launch undertakes to supply hatching egg of turkey to the complex of DAMATE Group. DAMATE in its turn undertakes to provide Aviagen with all necessary support measures during the construction.

Earlier on the same day, DAMATE and Aviagen Turkeys signed an agreement under the terms of which Aviagen is obliged to put the plant into operation in 2019 and to start deliveries of incubation eggs to DAMATE complex within 9 years. Thus, DAMATE will be able to provide 50% of its own need for a hatching egg.

"The implementation of a new investment project will allow us to take another step towards the independence of our companies from import supplies of genetic material, will enable further development of both the business and the region," -the Governor of Penza region Ivan Belozertsev commented.

"We have repeatedly discussed an issue of the need for establishment of modern genetic complexes in the country, which will reduce dependence from import supplies. The transfer of the best western genetic technologies to Russia is the most optimal and competent solution in the current situation,"- said the General Director of DAMATE Group Rashid Khairov. "The arrival of such a large company as Aviagen into the region and breeding of a turkey parent stock in Penza region is an important step towards getting rid of a need for hatching egg in the near future."
