Damate Group, the government of Tyumen region and Rosselkhozbank JSC signed an agreement of intent, providing for the implementation of two projects in the region. The document was signed by Governor of Tyumen region Alexander Moor, chairman of the board of Rosselkhozbank JSC Boris Listov and chairman of the board of directors of Damate Naum Babaev.

Under the agreement, the company will build a pedigree breeding unit for 12 million eggs per year and a sheep breeding farm for 4,000 females within two years. The government of Tyumen region intends to consider the issue of providing state support, including through the provision of subsidies at the expense of the regional and federal budgets.

The financial partner is Rosselkhozbank JSC. Investments in projects amount to 4.8 billion rubles and 1.2 billion rubles, respectively.

As part of the first project, Damate plans to build a turkey pedigree breeding unit of the second order in the Isetsk district of Tyumen region. The facility will consist of 10 poultry sites (five for rearing and five for parent flocks), designed for a one-time keeping of 137.5 thousand poults.

The payback period of the project will be about 7 years after reaching the design capacity, taking into account subsidies from the region. The launch of the reproducer will make it possible to transfer the process of obtaining a hatching turkey egg to the territory of the Russian Federation, thereby significantly reducing dependence on imports, as well as increasing production indicators by optimizing logistics.

The agreement provides for the creation of a unique selection and genetic project for sheep breeding, which has no analogues in the world. Investments will be directed to the construction of a sheep breeding farm for 4 thousand ewes in Tyumen region, which will include sites for 10.8 thousand stalls, a laboratory for the selection and storage of semen with a capacity of more than 200 thousand doses and 2 thousand embryos per year, its own summer pasture and land bank for feed production.

The payback period is about 5 years after reaching full capacity. Damate farm will be engaged in the creation and sale of pedigree material, will create the first reference base for small ruminants in Russia. The implementation of the project will increase the breeding effect and improve the Russian sheep gene pool through the transfer of the latest breeding and genetics technologies.

To date, work is underway to allocate land plots for the construction of facilities in the districts, the technological concept of sites with high production biosafety has been worked out, a contract has been concluded with a design institute for the performance of work, the construction of external engineering networks of power supply is underway, gas supply and access roads are being developed, contracts for implementation engineering and geological surveys are concluded.

As a result of the implementation of projects in the region, about 300 new workplaces will be created.

"Projects that we plan to implement in Tyumen region will have a huge impact on enhancing the genetic safety of the agro-industrial complex and will accelerate the transfer of the best innovative livestock technologies. Moreover, measures of state support are of decisive importance for their successful implementation, - said chairman of the board of directors of Damate Naum Babaev. - In fact, we are creating the first breeding and genetic center and the first reference genetic database of small ruminants in Russia. As a result of the implementation of the projects, Tyumen region will become a leader in livestock breeding and genomic selection in the country."

"I am convinced that there is a great future behind investments in genetics. Moreover, the provision of our agriculture with its own genetic material is one of the key state tasks set by the President of Russia Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. Rosselkhozbank JSC has already issued over 11 billion rubles to more than 100 borrowers who are engaged in genetic projects in agriculture. We will continue to invest in science-intensive projects," said chairman of the board of Rosselkhozbank JSC Boris Listov.

"Today is a significant day for the Tyumen agro-industrial complex. We commissioned the third stage of the dairy complex of the Tyumen dairy farms in the Golyshmanov district and signed two agreements that will attract substantial investment in agriculture of Tyumen region. All this confirms that the Tyumen agroindustry remains attractive to investors. As a result of the implementation of investment projects, new jobs appear for rural residents. In the difficult economic situation associated with the global pandemic COVID-19, this is especially important for the region. We are always ready to support every investor who intends to invest in the creation of a new production in the countryside. This fully applies to both large companies and small and medium-sized businesses," - said Governor of Tyumen region Alexander Moor.
