Damate Group plans to build a new lamb processing plant in the Stavropol Territory. An appropriate agreement has been signed with the regional government at the Caucasian Investment Forum. Damate Group and the government of the Stavropol Territory have signed a cooperation agreement to jointly implement a project to build a new lamb slaughter and processing plant. Within the framework of the signed agreement, the parties will continue the development of sheep breeding in the North Caucasus.

The ceremony took place on May 26 during the Caucasian Investment Forum. The document was signed by Vladimir Vladimirovich, Governor of the Stavropol Territory, and Naum Babaev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Damate Group of Companies.

" Damate company has been a reliable and promising partner in the development of animal husbandry in the region for several years. Our cooperation helps to revive the sheep breeding industry in Stavropol, giving a new impetus to the development of the eastern regions of the region. The construction of the largest meat processing plant in the territory of the Neftekumsk district is another important step in this direction. We are ready to provide all necessary support to such projects," said Vladimir Vladimirov, Governor of the Stavropol Territory.

The project will be implemented in several stages, and the construction is due to be completed and put into operation by 2030. The estimated investment volume will be 20 billion rubles.

"Stavropol Region holds a special place among the partners of Damate company. In the region, we are implementing the most important project for Russian sheep breeding – a breeding and genetic center. We have already commissioned the first stage of the center in the Predgorny district, where the most advanced sheep breeds in the country are now kept. Over time, the best sheep from all over the world will be there. The agreement signed today is aimed at building a new plant for the production of mutton and its processing, including ready-made dishes which are in high-demand today. Such projects set the tone for the development of sheep farming not only in Stavropol, but throughout Russia," said Naum Babaev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Damate Group.

The planned capacity of the meat processing plant will be 1.2 thousand heads per hour or 119 thousand tons per year. The company will produce chilled and frozen lamb in retail package, as well as meat by-products. In addition, the plant is expected to produce products of deep processing with high added value: hams, sausages, ready meals.

As a result of the project, 500 new jobs will be created.

Damate continues to develop a mutton production project in the North Caucasus Federal District, which includes a mutton processing plant, feedlots, a service company for farmers, breeding and genetic center.
