The Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, in course of a working visit to the North Caucasus Federal District, highly appreciated the work of Russia's largest lamb processing plant Damate. The enterprise with a capacity of 25 thousand tons per year was launched in September 2023 in Cherkessk, Karachay-Cherkessia Republic. Provided the plant reaches its design capacity, the volume of processing will be 300 heads per hour or 42 tons of products per shift.

The Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Head of the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic Rashid Temrezov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Damate Naum Babayev and other honored guests took part in the inspection of the plant's production facilities on April 28.

The plant was opened as part of the Damate project for the production of mutton in the North Caucasus Federal District, which also includes breeding and feeding sites, a service company, and a genetic direction. Investments in the re-equipment of the enterprise amount to 3.4 billion rubles, the financial partner is the Russian Agricultural Bank (RusAg).

As part of the reconstruction, a complete modernization of all engineering systems and production facilities of the enterprise was carried out: lines for deboning red meat were installed, production of large- and small-batch semi-finished products with a capacity of 30 tons per day was started, the plant will produce 4 tons of sliced marinades and 4 tons of minced meat and kupati daily. The company will produce 12.8 tons of meat and bone meal per day.

In 2023, additional work is being carried out to increase the efficiency of the production process, additional equipment is being installed to increase margins and expand the range of products.

The plant has a modern product quality control system at every stage of production; the company is certified according to HACCP and ISO standards. Slaughter and processing of mutton are under control of state veterinary expertise, quality and safety control of products is carried out in the laboratory.

Special attention is paid to compliance with the norms of sanitary safety of production. The plant is constantly monitoring the sanitary condition of infrastructure and equipment; strict zoning of production into "dirty" and "clean" zones is observed. All animals undergo sanitary health control and pre-slaughter inspection.

During the re-equipment of the enterprise, modern technological equipment of leading Russian and foreign manufacturers was used; most of the processes have been automated.

For example, a slaughter line with high-speed conveyor cutting technology enables simultaneous production of a product for different categories of consumers with different cutting depth, which allows avoiding working on warehouse loading and focus strictly on customers’ requests.

The facility includes unique technological systems for automatic calibration of carcasses by weight and their steam treatment, as well as for offal and high-value raw materials. Calibration guarantees a homogeneous final product.

An important part of the reconstruction project is installation of improved local treatment systems and organization of processing of industrial waste of the enterprise.

The products of the new plant are sold to federal and regional retail chains throughout the country under the BAZARCO brand. The product range includes 200 items among which are natural semi-finished products from mutton and lamb, minced meat, marinades and canned food. All products are certified according to Halal and Kosher standards.

Thanks to the large-scale reconstruction, the number of jobs at the enterprise has been increased from 150 up to 450, and in 2023 their number will grow up to 550.
