Damate started expansion of turkey project up to 207 thousand tons per year

As part of the expansion of the project's capacity for turkey production from 155 up to 207 thousand tons per year, Damate has begun construction of 64 new poultry houses in the Mokshansk district of Penza region. During a working visit to the construction site, the Acting Minister of Agriculture of Penza region, Roman Kalentyev, highly appreciated the pace of work, and outlined the high social significance of new facilities for the region and the region as a whole.

Damate will additionally invest 12.6 billion rubles in the expansion of the poultry project, more than 4.8 billion rubles of which in the construction of new poultry houses in the Mokshansk district.

In Pless and Znamenskoye villages of the Mokshansk district, 16 poultry houses for rearing and 48 poultry houses for males and females fattening will be put into operation. Once at full capacity, the sites will be producing one million turkeys per year. A total of 128 new poultry houses are planned to be built in the region as part of the expansion.

The contractor of the company conducts construction and installation work in stages in accordance with the schedule. All work is planned to be completed at the end of 2022.

"Damate makes a huge contribution to both the economic and social development of Penza region, of course, these are significant and important aspects for us, since the construction of new company facilities is, first of all, the development of rural areas, since new well-paid jobs, increased tax payments, the economy of the region and the region as a whole is developing. In Penza region, we have grown by one and a half times in the production of livestock and poultry over the past five years, this direction for us has a wide export potential, therefore the construction of new sites in this industry is an increase in export opportunities for Penza region," said the Acting Minister of Agriculture of Penza region, Roman Kalentyev.

"The construction of new poultry sites will allow us to increase the volume of turkey products by one third and meet the growing consumer demand for this type of meat,” said Rashid Khairov, General Director of Damate Group. "In addition, we create jobs in rural areas and provide people with stable jobs with decent wages. Every year Damate confirms the status of the largest agricultural taxpayer in the region, and the implementation of the expansion project will increase contributions to the budgets of all levels."

To date, the foundation arrangement has already been completed, the assembly of metal structures and the construction of concrete roads have been completed at four sites. The construction of wall and roof fencing and concrete floor is still ongoing. In accordance with the project, specialists have already begun to carry out gas and electrical work, installation of water pipelines. Simultaneously, preparatory work for the installation of specialized technological equipment is underway.

As of now, 131 employees and 26 units of construction equipment are involved in the construction of poultry houses and infrastructure facilities.

For the effective functioning of the poultry houses, modern infrastructure and communications will also be created - these are two water intake units, a weighing unit, four hangars, and two specialized manure storehouses.

Thanks to the construction of new poultry buildings, Damate will provide 109 people with jobs in the region. Preference for employment will be given to candidates from among the local population.

In early June, the company announced the expansion of its turkey production and processing project in Penza region. The company plans to reach the declared production capacity and complete the increase in production up to 207 thousand tons by the end of 2023.
